Why did Galileo die?
The pope infuriated at the content of the "Diaogo" because the church was teaching the goecentric theory (where Earth is at the orbital center of all other planets and the sun) and Galileo was teaching the heliocentric theory (which the Earth and planets revolve around a relatively stationary Sun at the center of the Solar System) places him on one thing after another. Galileo was eventually placed on trial as an older man. He is under suspicion of " heresy," but is convictied of holding and teaching the copernican belief. he is placed under house arrest for eight years untell his death in 1642.
